DISNEYLAND PARIS

f there is one part of the trip I enjoy almost as much as actually being at Disneyland Paris... it’s planning where we're going to eat.

Yep, I’m one of those people who, weeks (or even months) before the trip, is already studying restaurant menus, hunting down seasonal snacks, and picturing the whole family sitting around a table, sharing a great meal and recapping the day's adventures.

Because ultimately, some of the very best trip memories are made right there: over a hearty breakfast before hitting the parks, during a relaxing lunch break, or while eating dessert and people-watching on Main Street.

That’s exactly why I know that one of the biggest headaches when planning a trip is deciding whether or not to book a Disney Meal Plan. Is it actually worth it? Which one should I choose? How many meal vouchers do I even get?

To answer all those questions, I’ve put together this guide and built two tools to help you make the best choice for your trip. That way, you can spend less time crunching numbers... and more time imagining which restaurant will leave your family smiling. ☁✨

What is a Disney Meal Plan?

A Meal Plan is an add-on option available when you book a Disney Package. Instead of paying for every meal out of pocket during your trip, you prepay for them in advance. Depending on the tier you choose, you’ll receive vouchers for breakfasts and lunches or dinners, which can be redeemed at a massive variety of restaurants across Disneyland Paris.

Step 1: Choose Your Number of Meals
First, decide how many meals you want included each day of your trip:

Breakfast Only: Breakfast at your hotel every morning.
Half Board: Breakfast + one meal (lunch or dinner).
Full Board: Breakfast + lunch + dinner.

Step 2: Your Plan Tier Depends on Your Hotel
Once you've picked your meal frequency, the tier of your plan (and which restaurants you get access to) is tied to the Disney Hotel you are staying at:

• Standard: Disney Hotel Santa Fe and Disney Davy Crockett Ranch.
• Plus: Disney Hotel Cheyenne, Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club, and Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
• Premium: Disneyland Hotel.

What’s the Difference? (And What Exactly is the Extra Plus Plan?)

This is where people usually get confused, but let's make it easy!
Standard Half Board and Plus Half Board offer exactly the same flexibility. The real difference kicks in with Full Board:

• Standard Full Board: One of your daily meals MUST be used at a quick-service restaurant. Plus, your extra meal on departure day must also be quick-service.
• Plus Full Board: Total freedom! All your meals, including your departure day meal, can be used wherever you want: quick-service, buffets, or table-service restaurants.
• Extra Plus Full Board: This is an optional upgrade (not tied to a specific hotel) that includes all the perks of the Plus Full Board, while throwing in extra magic:
✨ One Character Dining meal (using one of your vouchers) with no extra upcharge.
🥤 One daily voucher for a snack and a drink.
🥤 One daily voucher for an extra drink.

🧮 Your Magical Tool: Find Out How Many Vouchers You Get

So you don't have to memorize any of these rules and can just focus on how good the food will be, we built our Meal Plan Calculator.

It is incredibly easy and intuitive: just select your hotel, your plan, and your length of stay. Instantly, the screen will generate your "Magical Summary," showing you the exact number of breakfasts and meals every person in your family will receive for the entire adventure. Crystal clear and super easy!

Should I Buy a Dining Plan or Pay Out of Pocket?

This is easily one of my most frequently asked questions.

Some people swear you should always buy a Dining Plan, while others claim it’s a waste of money. The reality is that neither statement is true for everyone.

It all depends on your specific trip: which restaurants you want to hit, how many character meals you are planning, whether you prefer quick-service or sit-down meals... and even how much peace of mind you get from having the bulk of your trip prepaid.

That’s exactly why we built a tool that does all the heavy lifting for you.

Just select the types of restaurants you want to eat at, and the tool will automatically compare the out-of-pocket cost versus the price of a Dining Plan. In seconds, you'll know exactly which option works best for you and how much money you could save.

The Best Kept Secret: Plan Ahead So You Can Enjoy the Moment
