Traveling with little ones doesn't mean you have to miss out on the most thrilling rides at Disneyland® Paris. ☁🎢
If one of the kids doesn't meet the height requirement for an attraction—or simply doesn't want to ride—Rider Switch lets the adults take turns enjoying the ride without both having to wait in the full queue.
It is a completely free service and can be an absolute lifesaver when the lines are long.
How does Rider Switch work?
The process is delightfully simple.
One adult stays with the child while the other waits in the regular line and rides the attraction. When they finish, the adults switch: the one who just rode takes over watching the child, allowing the second adult to bypass the regular standby line and hop straight onto the ride.
The exact entry point for the second adult can vary depending on the attraction, so your best bet is to ask a Cast Member at the ride entrance before the first adult gets in line.
☁ Nubi's Tip: You don't all need to wait in line together just to do the switch. One adult can hang back and relax with the child while the other enjoys the ride.
What if you have an older child who is tall enough to ride?
This is where the magic really happens. ✨
In many cases, if you have an older child who meets the height requirement, they can ride with the first adult and then ride again with the second adult!
So not only does Rider Switch save the adults from waiting in a long line twice, but the older sibling might just get to experience the attraction two times in a row! 🎢
As always, make sure to confirm this with the Cast Member at the entrance, as procedures can vary slightly from ride to ride.
Which attractions offer Rider Switch?
Rider Switch is available on select attractions across Disneyland Paris. A few iconic examples include:
• Big Thunder Mountain
• Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
• Crush’s Coaster
This doesn't mean these are the only ones. If an attraction isn't suitable for someone in your party, simply ask at the entrance if Rider Switch is available and how to use it.
Do I need to book Rider Switch in advance?
Nope! You don't need to book it ahead of time or purchase it as an add-on.
Just approach a Cast Member at the attraction's entrance before the first adult gets in line. They will explain exactly how the switch will be handled for that specific ride.
